While I was in the UK I had my eyes tested again and, after a small change in prescription, I needed new eyeglasses. Turns out I have an astigmatism, and apparently that is not even remotely as terrifying as it sounds! I did buy some glasses in the opticians after my sight test, for a variety of reasons, and I love them, but then GlassesShop.com reached out to me and asked if I’d like to review some of theirs. So I said yes, duh! Because who doesn’t need a variety of glasses for different occasions?!
I know many people are suspicious, even now, about buying eyeglasses online, and I get it. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to order online, and when it’s something important, like something you need to, y’know, see, you don’t want to get it wrong or waste your money. Thankfully it’s super easy to input your prescription, even if, like me, you have no idea what the numbers actually mean! As long as you double check the information you’ve put in, you shouldn’t have any problems.
The UK optician actually asked if I’d be interested in contacts, at which point I made a pretty squeamish face and did that mumble thing where you go on about sticking fingers in your eyes and how much that freaks you out! And it’s true, that does freak me out. But also, I just love wearing glasses! I think they suit my face, and they come in cool colours & shapes and, for me, they’re a great addition to my style. If you’re fortunate enough to have fabulous eyesight, but still want to rock some funky frames, that’s totally an option too. GlassesShop.com actually have 3 “fashion” options, so you can opt for frame only, a clear lens, or fashion sunglasses, on any of the frames on their site.
So if you want to look as cool as me, but don’t actually need glasses, no problemo!
With summer upon us, it might be wise to invest in a pair of prescription sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun’s UV rays. It’s not just your skin that can be damaged by overexposure to the sun, so make sure you’re taking care of your eyes too by wearing sunglasses. Bonus: they make you look like a celebrity!
If you’re in the market for some new glasses, prescription or otherwise, GlassesShop.com have kindly given me a coupon code to share with my subscribers. If you put in the code GSHOT50 at the checkout, you are entitled to 50% off all eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses only throughout their website, with the exception of sales frames.
Do let me know if you give them a try, I’d love to see which frames you go for.
I was gifted a pair of glasses to review, but all views expressed are my own and completely honest.
