Weight Loss: Slimpod Success!

weight loss size 12 me

I can hardly believe that I’m writing this weight loss update, but here I am!

I set my goals on 4th May 2016. My main aim was to be a size 12-14 and feel fit and healthy. I aimed to achieve that by 1st June 2017 and, honestly, I was nervous even setting that date because it still didn’t feel like long enough!

And yet, here I am, on 1st November 2016, sharing with you that I DID IT!

Oh yes. This is the update I never really thought would come. That photo on the right is me, yesterday, in a size 12 play suit! I am so proud of myself and so grateful to the Thinking Slimmer team for breaking my chocolate addiction, giving me a desire to be active and shrinking my appetite.

This isn’t the end of my journey, I will keep listening to shift a few more pounds/inches, but I’m happy with how I look now. I can dig out more clothes from the loft to fill my wardrobe with and enjoying wearing old clothes that I loved all over again.

I have a much healthier attitude to food now, I enjoy food still and eat out at least once a month, but I eat less overall and that’s the key.

So what have I learned over the past few months of Slimpodding?

Weight Loss Top Tips:
  • Keep at it! This is the key in my opinion. I kept listening to my Slimpod and learned to trust the process. And keep positive!
  • Don’t beat yourself up for a ‘slip up,’ it doesn’t mean it’s all ruined. I know how easy it is to munch a packet of crisps or a piece of cake and think, “well that’s it, I’ve destroyed all my hard work, I quit.” It’s not true! Just keep swimming!
  • Remember that slow & steady wins the race; don’t rush or think that you’re losing “too slowly,” it’s a marathon not a sprint. Always keep in mind too that it’s more likely you’ll keep weight off if you lose slowly.

I hope that my journey, which I will continue to blog about occasionally, proves that it can be done. That anyone can do it, you just have to find the method that works for you, for your body and mindset. If something; a diet, an exercise, whatever, isn’t working for you, try something else. What works for me, or your BFF, or whoever, might not work for you, and that’s OK. Just don’t give up!

And if you want to see me do a little hand wavy celebration, my weight loss vlog is right here:

Go you!! This podcast sounds like exactly what I need, I just need to find a spot in my budget (after holidays maybe). I have such a screwed up relationship with food and cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix it. As always, you are a wonderful inspiration.

I really hope that you find the cash to give it a go, and I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.
It took time, but I feel so much happier around food now, I feel less attached to it, y’know?
