When I first got this dress, in my youth, I was happy to bare my boobs to the world in it. This time though, I felt very exposed in such a low cut dress so I grabbed a brooch and hid a little of the cleavage. A wise move methinks, especially as my Mother was a bit horrified by the amount of cleavage that was on show!
The dress is an old Jane Norman number, leggings & necklace are from Mim and jacket from Matalan. Earrings were made by a friend, brooch was a charity shop find (I think), boots are an old pair from a shop that I don’t remember that I still love because they’re warm and comfy!
I was so pleased to have squeezed into the dress, not only is it a dress that I love, but I think it looked amazing on me again. I was so worried when I picked it out of my wardrobe that it wouldn’t fit or that I would look truly awful in it, but I needn’t have worried!
I feel like my leggings gave the outfit a festive touch, even though I was massively outdone in the festive stakes by several expats in Christmas jumpers and hats!
My make-up was pretty on point too, just my humble opinion! I went for a silvery grey eye, which is a look I’ve been loving this winter, a pinky lip to match my hair, and some Ted Baker bronzer/blush which had a touch of glitter in it. I have never used the bronzer/blush before but I will be whacking it in my make-up bag now because I love it!
So that was my festiveish look for the expat’s Christmas meal. I nearly wore the same dress I wore in 2013, but I’m glad I went for a different look.
I may still look a bit porky but a friend at the meal noticed, and commented on, my weight loss which has spurred me on again. I’m doing so well and look and feel so much better than I did when I was nearly 2 stone heavier that I am determined to get this weight off.
So what do you think of my outfit? And what are you wearing this festive season?
