This week I ate a large bag of bacon crisps, I got drunk twice, I indulged in a cinnamon latte and I thought my weight loss was going to suffer. My portions have remained a sensible size though and in general I’m not snacking or overdoing the food.
So to the numbers, well, number! This week I lost 1lb and I’m totally happy with that. I had another on, off, on the scales moment as when I first weighed in on my old scales it was telling me I had a 3lb loss, my new scales registered a 1lb loss so I hopped back on the old scales again and it agreed with the new scales that time!
I’m so proud of myself for not putting huge stress on myself and not getting hung up on the numbers. I am eating smaller portions, much less chocolate and snacking less. I might not be doing some special diet, but I am losing weight and I’m doing it in a way that is sustainable and that will, hopefully, keep me healthy for life.
That’s what my weight loss is about; a lifestyle change. Sure I want to get down to a healthier weight, but I want to stay at that weight without feeling I have to restrict myself or buy into the latest fad diet. This is about getting healthy for the long haul and staying that way, that’s what’s important to me.
