word of the week

It’s been a while since I took part in Word of the Week, but this week the word came to me, and that word is…

After thinking I had finally got past the tiredness that came with my medication, this week I have been gradually getting more and more tired, these past two days I have been exhausted in fact. I slept 11 hours last night, 12 the night before, and am still struggling to function during the day because all I can think is that I need to sleep.

Of course, alongside tiredness goes grumpy, short & easily annoyed. So I’m not really the nicest person right now. On top of that, it’s causing bloggers block; I have a load of draft posts that are just titles and I just can’t get my brain to function enough to write them. I hate it.

But hopefully my body will remember that it was getting used to my medication and sort itself out soon, because I am already fed up of it!

Oh I do hope you feel better soon. Being tired is an awful feeling! #wotw.

  2. Kim Carberry

Oh no! That doesn’t sound good at all…..I hope you feel better soon x

This sounds hugely frustrating, and yes, tiredness invariably leads to grumpiness, too. Hope your medication levels out soon so that you feel more like yourself x Thanks for joining in again with #WotW

I understand this as the two – tiredness and grumpiness go hand in hand with me which isn’t good when you’re a mum and trying to teach maths to 6 year olds who end up crying because you are short with them.

I read somewhere a couple of days ago a great tip, it said when you are feeling that way, do something completely different to the norm, that could be art, photography, a walk or even cleaning your room. By doing something that allows your mind to be free and roam you actually become more creative as a result because ideas come to you. Give it a whirl, it might help?

I can imagine that is very hard, hope you’re not too tired at the moment.

That’s an interesting idea, I will try and give something different a go to break out of my blogging funk! Thank you!

I am a foul tempered beast when I am tired so understand how awful you must feel so tired. Could it be possible you’re having too much sleep, I know it sounds odd but more than 9 hours will make you feel ore sluggish. Easier said than done to actively get up when you’re having a good sleep but maybe worth a try? The side effects of meds can be very frustrating, hopefully you will adjust to them soon x #wotw

I thought maybe it was having too much sleep too, but I have tried sleeping less and I have the same problem sadly.

Being exhausting is such an awful feeling
I hope your body settles into its medication & you feel better soon
