Colmenar & Comares

Today my step-dad decided we were going out! Initially we weren’t sure where, but we were going somewhere! It was quickly decided we’d head to Torcal de Antequere, a place my parents had been before but wanted me to see as the views are supposed to be stunning. An hour later we arrived…in fog…we had lunch while we waited for it to clear…it didn’t! Typical! So off we went on a tour of some mountain towns.

First up we headed to Colmenar, a very small town up a mountain where we didn’t actually even stop because there didn’t seem to be anything of note! It’s supposed to be famous for honey though.

Driving through the mountains up supremely windy roads was something of an experience! As was driving through Spanish towns, with theirĀ very narrow streets and many one way systems and dead ends! Plenty of photo opportunities though as the mountains make for some stunning shots.

At Comares the views were amazing. The town is atop a mountain and a lot of the apartments/houses have balconies that overlook the huge drop! I certainly couldn’t live there but it was fascinating to visit.

I still actually feel like I’m moving so I’ll just leave you with some shots of the mountains, the first is with my phone from Comares.
