I’m making my own shorts!

Today I was going through my bin bag of clothes to go to the charity shop and I saw some jeans that I used to love, they still fit but the inside of the thigh is either very thin or totally torn and I got to thinking: I don’t own any shorts! And so began my attempt at converting them!

It may be worth noting that I’m not the worlds best sewer, nor am I in anyway artistic so this is no small feat for me! I had no idea where to start but so far so good!

Initially I chopped the legs off and then folded under the raggedy edges and pinned them in place, then off I went with my needle and thread sewing it up. They’re not quite finished yet, I ran out of thread, but it’s got me wanting to customise all sorts now! I know it’s not a big deal and that people do it all the time, but I am so proud of myself! I’ve never been good at crafty things, I’m more on the academic side, but I’ve always wanted to be able to do things like this! Once again, I’m very proud! Yay me!

oh they are so cute! I love the idea of customising stuff and making use of old clothes but i’m just not brave enough.

Thanks 🙂 I’m the same, but I figured seeing as they were going anyway I had nothing to lose! It’s given me the confidence to try some other stuff too. Would definitely recommend it, just start with some old stuff first!
